The London Underground Treasure Hunt – Green Park

I thoroughly enjoyed the London Underground Treasure Hunt. I was skeptical when my friend asked me to go with him. I was looking at the website where you applied (Link attached at the end). It looked like a phishy scam from 1990s. You know, the unusually colourful text, pictures that you could easily download from Google or even MS powerpoint, and messily formatted timetable.

As he was paying in advance, I thought ‘okay, I won’t lose anything if this is a scam.’ It wasn’t.

Day: Saturday

Time: 14:30

Meet-up point: Green Park

Duration for the treasure hunt: 2 hr

Cost: £15 per person plus travelling fee on tube

We were briefed by a staff wearing a ‘Treasure Hunt’ sign and a London Underground cap. Each group was given a pack including instruction, group name labels, a tube map and a list of riddles. We had 2 hours to take pictures of signs or objects which matched the riddles.

Free Paper fan – it was a very hot day. The staff kindly reminded us to keep hydrated.

We didn’t really have time to use the paper fan. We were too busy looking at the riddles and thinking of the answers. We solved most of the riddles, at least we thought we did. We fortunately returned in time. Otherwise, our score would be deducted.

We score 704 and finished in 7. out of 30. It wasn’t too bad. If we had got the brain-teaser right, we could have got 1st. We were gutted!

Our prize of official London Underground merchandise! Two sets of mats, a deck of Oxford Street Playing cards, a small notebook, ‘keep calm’and ‘mind the gap’ fridge magnets, and a key chain.

It was a fun day out. We ran (not supposed to), sweated, laughed, and visited somewhere we’ve never been in London. It was something different as we usually just went to movie or dined out.
